M-level credits are achieved through completion of formal, university-accredited, chiropractic-relevant postgraduate modules/awards and/or through completion of other professional activities recognised by the RCC as M-level equivalent.
Specialist Faculty MRCC is achieved by satisfying the defined core competencies of the Specialist Faculty by one of the published routes (120 credits). Specialist Faculty LRCC can be attained by completing a designated portion of a Faculty’s core competencies (60 credits).
Overseas applications are only accepted with university-accredited M-level qualifications at the level of Fellowship (120 chiropractic-relevant credits)

Formal M-Level Qualification and Modules – number of credits varies
Many UK higher education institutions offer stand-alone M-level modules as well as postgraduate programmes, that are typically modular, with exit points at: Postgraduate Certificate (60 credits), Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits), Masters (180 credits) and Doctorate (deemed equivalent to 180 M-level credits for RCC membership purposes). If you have received an award, completed an individual module, or are part-way through a postgraduate programme (and have evidence of having completed M-level credits), please record this in the Formal Postgraduate Qualifications section of your membership progression application.
Certificated Qualification (recognised by the RCC as M-level equivalent)
If you have successfully completed any the certificated qualification listed above, please record this in the Professional Qualifications section of your membership progression application form and provide the details prompted in that section. You must attach a certificate, letter or some other documentary evidence of your achievement as provided by the awarding institution.
Professional Activities and Achievements (recognised by the RCC as M-level equivalent)
A range of different professional activities and achievements are recognised by the RCC as M-level equivalent for the purposes of membership progression.
PPQM/CMQM
If you were directly involved in developing the application for your clinic’s first successful achievement of the PPQM and/or CMQM award, this may be recognised for up to a maximum of 15 credits each. You will need to provide details of when the award was achieved, and to what extent to which you were personally involved, including details of how many other people had a role in the application.
Reflective CPD
Reflecting on your learning in a meaningful and structured manner can be recognised for M-level credit-equivalence by using the RCC Reflective CPD Form to undertake formal reflection of a CPD activity. Potentially, one M-level credit could be awarded for 250 words of reflective writing with a maximum of 5 M-level credits per CPD activity. A separate reflective CPD form should be completed for each activity for which you wish to claim credits.
PRT Trainer/Mentor
Successfully mentoring a PRT candidate throughout the course of their PRT programme can be recognised as the equivalent of up to 10 M-level credits. This is subject to a maximum of 10 credits in any one year, and a maximum of 60 credits that can be accumulated via this route for the purposes of membership progression. In order to claim credits, you must complete a reflective supplementary PRT Trainer Credit Form.
Peer-Reviewed Publications
Each chiropractic-relevant article published in a peer-reviewed publication can be recognised for up to 12 M-level credits for the purposes of RCC membership, depending upon the applicant’s contribution. The first author of any publication may receive up to 12 credits, while second and third authors may receive up to 4 credits each.
Professional Committee Work
For each year you are an active member of a chiropractic-relevant committee, a maximum of 5 M-level credits may be recognised for the purposes of RCC membership. Please include on your membership progression form the date you joined (and date you left) the committee, as applicable. Note that RCC central committee work, PRT tutors and Specialist Faculty Roles (including Chair, Director of Academic Affairs and Secretary) normally attract credits in this category.
