About Chiropractic Patient Voice
The Chiropractic Patient Voice (CPV) is a patient-led group dedicated to ensuring the voice of chiropractic patients is heard and valued in shaping care standards and policy. It was established to amplify the voice of patients and ensure their experiences and insights directly inform the development of care standards, policies and patient resources. It was formed through the merger of the Royal College of Chiropractors’ Lay Partnership Group (LPG) and the Chiropractic Patients’ Association (CPA) two groups with a long history of collaboration and shared goals.
The merger, finalised in 2022, brought together the strengths of both organisations into one united group. CPV now represents a broader, more inclusive patient community and continues to lead key initiatives such as the Patient Partnership Quality Mark (PPQM), helping to build a more patient-centred future in chiropractic care.
Why CPV Matters
At its core, CPV is about making sure the patient voice is not only heard but truly valued. It exists to represent public and patient viewpoints in key consultations and conversations held by the Royal College of Chiropractors (RCC), the General Chiropractic Council (GCC), and other relevant healthcare organisations.
Whether it’s contributing to clinical guidance, improving communication and support for patients or helping shape future quality standards, CPV ensures that the chiropractic profession stays grounded in real patient experience.
What CPV Does
The CPV is active in several important areas, including:
Shaping Patient Resources
Advising on and contributing to patient-facing information, support, and guidance published by the RCC.
Influencing Healthcare Standards
Taking part in consultations from the RCC, GCC, and other stakeholder organisations, and encouraging broader CPV member engagement in these discussions.
Ensuring Quality Through PPQM
Regularly reviewing the Patient Partnership Quality Mark (PPQM) requirements to ensure they reflect patient expectations and providing patient representatives to help assess applications for the award.
Building Collaborative Partnerships
Developing positive, cooperative relationships with other patient-focused groups in the healthcare community.
Championing the Patient Perspective
Leading and supporting initiatives that ensure patients remain at the heart of chiropractic care and policy.
