The Royal College of Chiropractors’ Public Health Society supports chiropractors in recognising and fulfilling their important role in public health. Through regular interactions with the public, chiropractors are ideally placed to contribute to improving health and wellbeing. The Society provides information, guidance and training to enhance knowledge and skills across key areas of public health. It is committed to developing new initiatives that will enable chiropractors to actively engage in health promotion and make a meaningful impact on the wider community.
We are delighted to welcome Annabel James DC MSc MMCA FRCC and Fay Waiting LRCC to the RCC Public Health Society.
Secretary: Annabel James DC MSc MMCA FRCC
A primary motivation to train as a chiropractor for Annabel was the age old adage ‘prevention is better than cure’. So she is delighted to be a part of the RCC’s Public Health Society’s committee. She believes that as health care professionals our roles reach beyond the treatment bench, as we are uniquely placed to provide education, monitoring, assessment and awareness at the interface of primary health care. She is looking forward to developing the Society’s CPD events, toolkits and to making connections with other professional bodies to ensure that chiropractors are part of the wider public health context; integral components in improving individual, family, community and societal health.
CPD Convenor: Fay Waiting LRCC
Fay graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in 2010 and has been based in a multidisciplinary clinic in the North West ever since. Fay has been a PRT trainer for the Royal College of Chiropractors for the last 10 years. Outside of work, she is passionate about getting out in the fresh air, regularly hill running and horse riding around the Peak District. Fay is excited to join the Public Health Committee and is looking forward to playing a role in promoting Public Health within the Chiropractic community and beyond.
