Membership Application and Renewals

To get access, you will need to register and create a new password. It is crucial that you use the exact email address we have on file for you. If you use a different email, the system will create a new record that is not linked to your existing membership.

Download the ‘Signing Up to My Portal‘ guide for complete instructions.

Congratulations on graduating! The PRT is the recognised route to facilitate a smooth transition from student to professional practice in the UK and is administered by the RCC. Your student membership is designed to facilitate your progression directly into the Post-Registration Training (PRT) programme.

This structured programme provides crucial mentorship, guided workshops and is the most straightforward and cost-effective way to satisfy all your GCC CPD obligations (including Directed CPD) in your first year or two of practice.

To begin your application, please follow these steps:

  • Log in to My Portal
  • Navigate to the Application Forms section.
  • Please complete and submit the application form.

Our team will review your submission and contact you directly with an update regarding your successful enrolment in the programme.

Once your form is submitted, it will disappear from your view to indicate that we have successfully received it. We will be in touch with an update shortly after submission.

My Portal is where you can find and submit all necessary applications related to your RCC membership. This includes:

  • PRT Application Form
  • PRT Trainer Application Form
  • Student Member Application Form
  • New Member Application Form
  • Member and Specialist Faculty Progression Application Form (e.g., progression from LRCC to MRCC).
  • Specialist Faculty Application Form

You can view the full list of available forms by logging into My Portal and navigating to the Applications section. If you are unsure which form you need to complete, please contact our membership team at membership@rcc-uk.org for guidance.

RCC membership is valid from 1 October to 30 September each year.

This year, we have improved and simplified the renewal process to make it easier and more convenient for our members. Renewal letters are no longer sent by post, helping us reduce our environmental impact. Additionally, members who pay by card can now complete their renewal quickly and securely through My Portal. Please note that we no longer accept payments via phone. All payments must now be made online with a debit or credit card or via bank transfer. For further information, please see the ‘Ways to Pay’ document saved in My Portal.

Changes to Membership

You have two primary options for managing your membership when you move to practice or live outside the UK:

  • If you move abroad to practice as a chiropractor, we can transfer your membership to Overseas status, and your membership fees will be amended to the Overseas rate accordingly. Please contact us at membership@rcc-uk.org to let us know when exactly you will be moving, providing your new practice and correspondence addresses as well as any new contact numbers, and we will action this for you.
  • If you move to live abroad but do not plan to work as a chiropractor there, you would need to cancel your RCC membership. Please contact us in writing at membership@rcc-uk.org to request cancellation of your membership and please specify the reason for the cancellation as we require this for our records.

*Things to note:

These options may not apply to Provisional members taking the PRT programme. If you are a Provisional member and are looking to move overseas, please contact us at membership@rcc-uk.org and we will advise further.

According to the current rules, applications from chiropractors based overseas are only accepted at Fellowship level as advised here. Therefore, if your membership is cancelled and you wish to re-join the RCC at a later date whilst practising abroad, you would need to apply according to these rules.

Yes, you can. Voluntary Suspension is designed for members who are taking a break from practice for a temporary period of no more than one year (e.g. maternity leave, sabbaticals, extended travel, or other personal circumstances).

To request a suspension, please email us at membership@rcc-uk.org for the Voluntary Suspension form.

All applications for Voluntary Suspension go through a review and approval process carried out by our Membership Committee.

Yes, you can transition to a Senior membership status. This option is available to members who have retired from chiropractic practice but wish to remain connected to the Royal College.

Important: Senior membership is only offered to existing members and cannot be reapplied for later. If you resign once you have retired, you will not be able to re-join as a Senior member in the future.

Specialist Faculties: Please note that there is no Senior membership option for our Specialist Faculties. If you are a member of a Specialist Faculty, that membership will cease once your Senior membership becomes active.

We are sorry to see you go. To cancel your membership, please contact us in writing at membership@rcc-uk.org. Please provide a reason for cancelling your membership, as this is required for our records. We will guide you through the process and ensure your membership is cancelled as per your request.

We apply a standard rule regarding monthly fees: the fee for the month you cancel your membership in will be charged if you cancel after the 15th of the month, but the fee will be waived if you cancel before the 15th.

No, only GCC registered chiropractors can be RCC members. Please contact us in writing at membership@rcc-uk.org to request cancellation of your membership and please specify the reason for the cancellation as we require this for our records. If you wish to retain your RCC membership to keep up with your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and other member benefits while you are non-practicing with the GCC, that is completely fine.

If you no longer wish to receive RCC communications, please send an email to optout@rcc-uk.org. You can also refer to our Privacy Policy for further information.

Important Notice Regarding Unsubscribing

Most of our communications (including news, updates and notices of CPD events) are distributed via our Mailchimp email system. If you choose to unsubscribe, please be aware that:

  • You will miss out on important RCC communications. This includes notifications about CPD events that are accessible to both members and non-members.
  • If you have unsubscribed by accident you can re-subscribe. Re-subscribing is your responsibility. Mailchimp is a stringent system that does not allow us to re-subscribe you, even if you are a current member. Because the system retains your email address, only you can initiate the re-subscription. If you would like to re-subscribe please click the following link and subscribe again in the relevant group: http://eepurl.com/xWjE1
  • If you want to stay in touch with us to hear about our CPD Events, please click the following link and subscribe again in the relevant group: http://eepurl.com/xWjE1

Yes, absolutely. If you wish to retain your RCC membership to keep up with your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and other member benefits while you are non-practicing with the GCC, that is completely fine.

Our primary requirement is that you must maintain an active registration with the GCC, and non-practicing status counts as an active registration for the purpose of maintaining your RCC membership.

Yes. Non-practicing registrants still need to submit CPD to the GCC, so retaining your RCC membership is beneficial as it allows you to continue receiving free CPD resources and access to other valuable member services during that time.

Direct Debit and Finance

To set up a Direct Debit, please contact our membership team directly at membership@rcc-uk.org. We will provide you with a form to complete and will guide you through the process.

To update your Direct Debit details, please contact us at membership@rcc-uk.org as soon as possible. We will send you a new form to ensure your payments continue without interruption.

Yes, please do. If you decide to cancel your Direct Debit, we kindly ask that you let us know the reason. This helps us keep your membership record up to date and understand if there is anything we can do to support you or improve our services in the future.
