Grants
The RCC provides grant funding for a number of purposes. Grants awarded include M-level Module Study Bursaries, Personal PhD Professional Doctorate Grants, PhD Studentship / Research Assistant Grants and Innovation Awards.
Applicants are invited to identify any suitable M-level module in research methodology, evidence-based practice, clinical audit, or service evaluation. These can be offered by any Higher Education institution thus ensuring maximum flexibility in terms of where, when and how they study.
In addition to the value of acquiring and applying new knowledge and skills to clinical practice, the benefits of undertaking one of these modules include:
- Access to the relevant University’s library facilities and resources for up to six months
- M-level credits towards RCC membership progression
- CPD-hours to satisfy statutory requirements
- M-level credits towards a PGCert, PGDip or MSc qualifications should applicants wish to extend their studies (if the module is part of an academic award)
The bursary available is currently £750.
Applications for these Bursaries open in August/September each year and are awarded in October/November.
Applications are now closed for 2025/26

The grant available is currently £1,600.
Applications for these Grants will be invited in November/December each year and they are awarded in the following January/February.
Applications are now closed for 2025/26.
The RCC Research Assistant Grant funds up to three days of protected research time per week for a Chiropractic Research Assistant employed full-time for a three-year period.
The grant is made on the condition that the individual appointed to the post will (a) have a total of four days’ protected research time each week dedicated to a specific research project that addresses one or more of the RCC’s priority areas for research, (b) will spend the fifth day undertaking an education/clinical role, and (c) will be registered for a PhD with the aim that this will be substantially completed within the 3-year term of the post.
Applications for these Grants are considered on a case by case basis. Please note that we don’t have an open call for applications at this point in time.
These one-year awards are granted to established researchers within an academic institution to prime a new or novel area of enquiry.
Applications are considered for projects in any area of research relevant to neuro-musculoskeletal health. Priority will be given to projects adopting an innovative approach and also to projects that address one of the research priorities specified by the RCC.
The award available is currently up to £15,000.
Applications will be invited from January and awarded around March/April.
The RCC awards research grant funding through a process of open competition with high quality peer review. Applications are invited from UK institutions to fund the costs of personnel undertaking research in the UK, but may relate to projects that involve collaboration with partner/s overseas. Applications to support collaborative ventures between chiropractic and non-chiropractic institutions are particularly welcome.
Applications will be considered for projects that match our priority areas for research.
